Denise is a dedicated leader with over 30 years of experience in education. She holds a Sixth Year Degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University, a Master of Education from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of New Hampshire.
Denise began her career in education as a special education teacher in Charlottesville, Virginia. She then moved to Concord, Massachusetts to be closer to family and friends. She was a special education teacher there for several years until she began working for Project Adventure in Beverly, Massachusetts. After two years with Project Adventure as an educational consultant and grant coordinator, Denise moved to Connecticut where she took a position as a special education teacher for Stratford Public Schools. In 2002, Denise began her role as Vice Principal at Bedford Middle School. She is proud of the continuous improvements in special education services over the past 15 years and the work of the School Climate Committee. She strives for Bedford to be a safe and nurturing school community that values students as resources, teachers as collaborators, and parents as partners.
Outside of her professional life, Denise cherishes time with her family and friends. She enjoys music, the theater and is an avid Red Sox fan.
