Westport Board of Education Requests Community Feedback for Development of a Comprehensive Strategic Plan
The Westport Board of Education’s Strategic Planning Committee, which has been tasked with the development of a multi-year comprehensive strategic plan for the district, has begun gathering feedback from the entire Westport community. Individual interviews of Westport leaders and focus groups of teachers and other educators, students, and parents are being organized to gather a wide range of perspectives on the state of the Westport Public Schools.
As part of its outreach, the Committee has developed an online survey that requests people’s opinions regarding the strengths and areas of growth for the Westport Public Schools. All community members, including parents, faculty, alumni, and residents without children in the school system, are invited to participate in the survey from April 6 to April 30, 2017.
Westport Public Schools Superintendent Colleen Palmer has stressed the importance of the survey, stating, "It is critical that we hear the voices of all stakeholders in Westport so that we can take a comprehensive look at where we are as a school district and where we hope to grow over the next three to five years to bring our district to the next level of excellence.”
