Megan is a dedicated educator, with over twenty years in the field. She earned her Sixth Year Degree in Educational Leadership from Sacred Heart University, earning the Gold Medal for Academic Achievement. She attended Southern Connecticut State University, where she earned her Master’s and teacher’s certification in Special Education, with a focus on working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges. Megan completed her undergraduate degrees at Central Connecticut State University, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology. She also serves as an adjunct professor for the University of Connecticut in their teacher certification program.
Megan began her career as a special education teacher in Stratford, Connecticut working in a district program for students with emotional needs. Four years later, she joined the staff at Bedford Middle School, where she has worked as a special education teacher for seventeen years. In this role, she has developed connections with students, families and staff, creating a safe, nurturing environment for learners; her collaborative approach to teaching and learning has been instrumental in the success of her students. Megan has served as the co-principal of Extended School Year services for Westport, and has been a leader amongst her peers through the various committees and leadership roles she has served on over the years.
As an administrator at Bedford, Megan will use her knowledge of instruction, her strong collaborative skills, and her desire to support students and teachers to ensure positive outcomes for the students she works with
Megan is the mother of three children; Madison, Cody, and Chase. She enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and sports, especially when her kids are playing!
