The hallways of Bedford Middle School were filled with international greetings and cultural celebrations as students participated in the annual World Language Week festivities, held April 7-11. From creating traditional crafts, playing favorite games, trying out traditional African instruments and sampling diverse cuisines, middle schoolers expanded their global perspectives while having fun.
Lili Tucker, a Bedford Middle School alumni and a current Peace Corps volunteer, shared her transformative journey with WPS eighth-grade students, offering a window into a world of service, cultural exchange, and personal growth. Through stories of overcoming challenges and forging deep connections in the Philippines, she inspired curiosity and empathy. Her firsthand account of making a difference abroad reinforces global citizenship and the power of compassion in the students' own lives.
